Simax Tubing
Simax glass, produced in Czech Republic, is a high quality borosilicate glass in COE 33. It is often used in laboratory and industrial glass products because of it's heat resistance, perfect clarity, and non-porous surface. This also makes Simax the ideal borosilicate clear glass for blown glass art and functional work. It is compatible with any other COE 33 glass in color or clear.
All of our borosilicate tubing and rod is measured in millimeters.
Most of the sizes are presented in this format:
a x b x c for tubing or a x c for rod, like 25.4mm x 4mm x 1500mm ( 1" Extra-Heavy Tubing) or 3mm x 1500mm (3mm rod)
a = Outer diameter
b = wall thickness
c = length of the tube or rod, usually 4 or 5 feet long
1 inch = 25.4 millimeters
The inner diameter of a tube can be found by using: a - 2b, or the outer diameter subtracted by two times the wall thickness.
